25th July 2015 by Brian O'Sullivan

Summary of CL’s youth competitions so far

After a wet first two weeks in May the weather has been unusually clement and we have completed 54% of our program.

In the various age groups the position is as follows:

BU11 - 82 of 146, BU13 - 66 of 130, U15 - 23 of 91, U17 - 7 of 30 and U19 - 5 of 16 are complete.

GU11 - 26 of 55, GU13 - 23 of 55, GU15 - 6 of 20 and GU17 - 2 of 10 have been played.

The number of walkovers is significantly down on 2014.

We have 113 boys teams and 33 girls teams slightly down on 2014 (119 and 37).

On wins to date the top 5 clubs are:

Leinster – 52, YMCA – 42, Pembroke – 36, Rush – 32, Malahide – 28

In the various leagues the leaders are:

Boys

U11A – Leinster are unbeaten and ahead of YMCA, Pembroke and The Hills.

U11B – Unbeaten Rush lead the A section from Railway, YMCA and North Kildare while Malahide head the B section from Leinster and The Hills.

U11C – Unbeaten Malahide have a good lead in North section from four clubs and Adamstown in South section who have finished their program can only be caught by Leinster.

U13A – Leinster and YMCA both have no losses and are closely followed by Phoenix with Pembroke and unbeaten Rush still in contention.

U13 B – Section A seems to be between YMCA and Leinster while Adamstown, Balbriggan and Rush lead the section B.

U13C – Unbeaten Leinster and Malahide lead here.

U15A – Clontarf, Pembroke, Rush and YMCA are unbeaten but few enough fixtures have been completed as is the case with U15Bs, U17s and U19s.

U15B – Munster, Civil Service and Leinster lead here.

U17 – In North Section North County and Phoenix have won the only fixtures played here while YMCA S and Pembroke top South.

U19 – The Hills, Clontarf and North County are in contention in North while in South Leinster have won the only two games played.

Girls

U11 – Pembroke are ahead and they, North County, Phoenix and The Hills have all only lost one game each.

U13 – Unbeaten Pembroke are likely winners while YMCA and Rush have only lost once each.

U15 – No games have been played North and YMCA, Leinster and Merrion are in contention South.

U17 – The Hills and Leinster lead here.

U19 – Leinster seem likely winners.

Cups

BU11 – Leinster beat Rush in the final and qualify for an All Ireland semi final in NWCU.

BU13 – Final between Rush and Phoenix is on Friday 24th July in Rush at 5 pm. Winners have a bye to the All Ireland final.

BU15 – Pembroke host the winners of Phoenix/Rush on Friday 31st July. Winners have a home semi final against CSNI.
