  3. RSA OCD5: Review
25th July 2014 by Eddie Lewis

RSA OCD5: Review

With just over 50% of their matches played Malahide III have a clear lead in OCD5, having only lost one match all season. There are two teams competing for the second promotion spot, Greystones and Leinster III, some 13 percentage points behind and there is nothing much to choose between them. Malahide have still to play Greystones and Leinster so they could still falter. But at the moment they are in poll position to take the league title.

Pretty much everyone else is in the frame for the two drop spots. Terenure II have only played four games so it is difficult to gauge their real position. For the rest [Railway III, Merrion IV, N County III and Clontarf III] less than 10 percentage points separate them.

Given the number of matches played the threshold for qualifying for the batting is put at 175 and six qualify, led by John Moffatt [307] from Leinster. There have been five centuries scored with the highest individual innings from Brian Smyth [114*] from North County. Four of the six qualified are youth players.

Ru Jones [Terenure], recently called up to the Irish U19 squad, and Kumail Toori [Railway] have each taken five wickets in an innings.
