The Division 2 league continues on in a predictable fashion. Another easy win for Clontarf [seven wickets over Rush] and an even more comfortable victory by Malahide over Merrion II [180 runs]. The only match of real significance to the overall league placings was Balbriggan hard fought win over Leinster II. Leinster II put together a very credible total of 254/8 off their 50 overs but it was not enough as Adrian Harper scored a undefeated century to help Balbriggan pass the total with four wickets standing.
Merrion II and Balbriggan are now neck and neck and the encounter between the two sides on 31st August may well determine which team is relegated along with Leinster II.
