While most teams in Division 1 have had a mid-season break over the past couple of weeks, there has been no let up in D2. With four matches left to play Malahdie have a comfortable 45 point lead in the Table over Cork County, who have two matches in hand.
Malahide’s dominance is reflected in the number of players [8] they have who have qualified for the averages with Reinhart Strydum and Finton McAllister making 1500 between them and the former also the leading wicket taker. It is interesting that Cork have only one player in the averges – Stephen Grobler in the All Rounders.
