Reminder on use of Social Media

All clubs, cricketers and supporters are reminded that Cricket Leinster’s Code of Conduct includes misuse of social media in a cricketing context.

Players and/or Team Officials shall at no time engage in any form of conduct unbecoming to their status which could bring them or the game of cricket into disrepute. This to include all methods of communication including social media.

Clubs can also be held responsible for the conduct of their supporters - including on social media

The following disciplinary offences may be committed by a club;

• Failing adequately to control its players’ behaviour.

• Failing adequately to control its supporters’ behaviour.

• Failure of the club or its members to comply with their obligations under the Code of Ethics and Good Practice

The penalty for such a club offence shall be any one or more of:

• A written reprimand and warning as to future conduct;

• A requirement to play specified Cricket Leinster fixtures away from home for such a period as may be specified;

• Suspension from specified Cricket Leinster competitions for such a period as may be specified
