  3. Preview of second round of RSA Women’s League D1
9th May 2013 by Eddie Lewis

Preview of second round of RSA Women’s League D1

Tonight sees the second round of matches in this years RSA Womens D1 League. The two big winners from last week, Leisnter and Merrion go head to head in Anglesea Road. At the same time North Kildare will have their first outing when they take on Clontarf in Castle Avenue. In the third match, Rush v Pembroke, each team will be keen to get their season started with a win.

This evening most attention will be on the top of the table clash between Merrion and Leinster. The two teams battled it out for honours for most of last season, with Merrion coming out on top after a few classic encounters. On home ground Merrion must be favourites again, especially given the early season form of Isobel and Cecelia Joyce who both figured prominantly in the Irish Womens' double success over the weekend in the County Championship [D2] in England. Clontarf and Pembroke are also favourities in their matches but early season, with a lot of players missing due to exams, upsets in any of the matches are on the cards.

The featured match for Live Scores will be the Merrion v Leinster clash, but hopefullly we will get updates on the other two matches as well in the RSA Match Centre. Matches start at 18.00.
