Gaby Lewis was the individual star on the night, however it was ultimately Pembroke who won out in an enthralling evening's action in tonight's featured action in the Phoenix Park.
The visitors batted first, and every player who batted in the top 7 made a start of at least ten, they were however sitting in something of a precarious position at 70/4 just before the halfway mark, when Zoe Bell joined Clare Shillington.
That pair added an important 48 run stand before the latter was dismissed for the top score of 32, with Bell remaining at the crease until the score reached 136 before she was dismissed for 26. Louise McCarthy marshalled the tail up to 155/9 off the allotted 20 overs.
Juliet Gargan was the pick of the bowlers for the home side, taking 3/37, whilst there were two for each of Arisha Foysal and Nevedha Saravanarajan.
Phoenix's chase got off to a sluggish start, losing 4 wickets in the Power Play as Pembroke bowled excellently, however, Lewis then found a willing partner in the shape of Ali Black, who stayed alongside her to add 78 for the 5th wicket, before the Ireland captain was eventually dismissed having made 87.
Pembroke took that chance to turn the screw, conceding just a further 9 runs in the 3 remaining overs to keep Phoenix to 121/7, securing a 34 run win. Mhairi Nicoll and Louise McCarthy the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/20 and 2/19 respectively.
Elsewhere, Malahide continued their hoodoo over Clontarf this season, as a sublime all-round performance from Meg Thompson guided The Village to an 8 wicket win inside the 18th over. 'Tarf batted first and managed 120/7 thanks to 30s for Christina Coulter-Reilly and Alice Walsh, however it was Thompson who was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/25, before the Aussie shared a stand of 99 for the first wicket with the returning Amy Hunter (42) as they teed up a sublime victory.
Finally, in Kenure, Leinster piled up a huge total of 217/4 in their 20 overs, thanks mainly to an unbeaten 90 from Laura Delany, taking just 48 balls and including 11 boundaries and two maximums. Sophie MacMahon also made 64 with an even better strike rate, taking just 31 deliveries in her knock. Rush were restricted to just 73 in their 20 overs as Leinster shared the ball around, Tash Richardson taking 3/7 at the end after Orla Bagnall (2/16) and Katie Dillon (2/13) had broken the back of the Rush chase.
