  3. Open Competitions : Review of Saturday Fixtures

Open Competitions : Review of Saturday Fixtures

After a couple of weeks break we return to a full schedule of D1 and D2 matches. At this point in D1 there is still everything to play for at both ends of the Table. Top plays bottom in the Leinster v Terenure clash and latter will need to spring a surprise if they are to hold out any hopes of avoiding relegation this season.

In the other matches YMCA v Merrion, The Hills V Railway Union and Clontarf v North County all teams are clustered on three or four wins for the season.  A crucial weekend which will determine if any can mount a challenge to Leinster and who will be scrambling to avoid relegation.

Division 2 is much more clearcut and the main issue will be who will get the second promotion spot, Rush or Phoenix, both on five wins. With Cork County not playing this weekend it remains to be seen if they can climb out of the second relegation place.

The key match in D5 is the second v third place contest between Merrion III and Dundrum. Clontarf III who lead the Division are also in action.

In D6 Sandford have the opportunity to cement their lead with a win over Clonee.

In D7 all three top teams [Leinster IV, Merrion V and The Hills III] are in action in what is becoming a closely contested league.

Finally, in D14 there are three games with all leading teams in action.  With Dundrum III and Clonee II within a % point at the top of the table every match counts.

Hopefully we will be able to follow the scores in as many as posisble of these maatches during the afternnon on the Match Centre. If you want to send in an update simply tweet to #cricketleinster.

Previous Leprechauns play Oakhill on Monday.
