There have been extensive amendments to the Laws of Cricket since last season and the majority of these are incorporated in the new regulations. Major changes include official LCU&SA umpires having the power to deal with disciplinary offences on the field (up to a maximum punishment of a player being removed from the match (in addition to punishments under Cricket Leinster's existing Code of Conduct); the outlawing of Mock Fielding; and batsmen now being able to be caught or stumped off a fielder's/wicketkeeper's helmet. There is a League Ball Scheme for Premier League-Division 4, clubs must use the correct ball in those competitions.
The use of the DLS System to calculate a target score in an interrupted match has been extended to Division 5 only. In addition to this, scorers are now mandatory for all Division 5 matches.
