OC Club Performance 2016 [2]: Win/Loss Ratio

We continue our review of the overall performances of clubs in Open [League] Competitions in 2016 with a look at the Win/Loss ratio for each club.

As always not too much should be read into these figures as they ignore the relative positions of teams across the different Divisions. At the same time a poor win/loss ratio may be a warning sign for some clubs that their teams are struggling in Divisions that are too strong for them. Over time this should be corrected through the normal relegation / promotion process, but if there are serious concerns they should be taken up by the clubs with the OCC. Of course the figures only deal with the club as a whole and do not show up how individual teams have done.

Clubs with a small number of teams who are making their way up the Divisions top the table - Ringcommons, AIB, Cabinteely and Swords. Of the clubs with five teams or more -  relatively few do better than average – with Adamstown [58.49], Clontarf [58.11], Merrion [55.91], Railway U [54.72] and Phoenix [53.33] the only clubs with higher than a  50% ratio.

Note: Figures do not take into account wins / losses against teams that subsequently withdrew from league. Ratio covers matches actually played - not walk-overs. In some cases, however, claims for walk-overs resulted in one team being credited with a NR and the other with a Loss.  This means that the number of losses can be greater than the number of wins.
