  3. Mid Season Report: RSA OCD10
5th July 2014 by Eddie Lewis

Mid Season Report: RSA OCD10

Division 10 is a nine team league. Up to the 29th June there had been 34 games played, including 5 NRs. 188 players have competed in the league of whom 62 are youth players.

Slieve Bloom are currently riding high in D10 and it will take a major effort from one of the chasing pack to overhaul them. Currently [29th June] they have six wins out of nine and a points percentage of 80%. This is twenty percentage points clear of their nearest rivals, Railway V.  Of course nothing is settled this early in the season but there is a sense that the main focus on interest will be in the contest for the second promotion spot. Here there are three teams within five percentage points of each other, the two others being YMCA V and Merrion Vi.

At the other end of the table Civil Service III are struggling and have only won one match in seven. Clontarf V, Pembroke V and Rush III are also bunched around 40% mark and competing to stay in the Division next season Castleknock II are also not out of danger with three wins out of seven and 47%.

The individual performances [from recorded matches up to 23rd June] for the league sees a number of players with more than 150 runs [led Sherjeel Ilyas [Castleknock] followed by Kashif Rehman [Rush] but only one player has taken more than 10 wickets, Rahim Abbasi [Castleknock]. This suggests that this is a Division where the bat has generally come out on top. Special mention of Joshue Murphy [Rush] and Peter Auret Slieve Bloom] who figure in both batting and bowling averages.

There have been four centuries, the highest individual score being 124 by Gary Burrows for Pembroke. The best individual bowling was 6/8 by Nabeegh Qureshi [Castleknock], with Joshua Murphy taking 6/18.
