The winning Merrion U19 team of 2017
Merrion started slowly having lost an early wicket. But gradually momentum built up as the innings built around a half century from Jack Atkinson. In the end Merrion reached 132/5 in their 20 overs. Competitive but by no means a big score.
Balbriggan also lost an early wicket but with Connor Fletcher batting fluently they always looked like they were in with a chance. The match turned when Sean Stanton came back after his opening spell and took two wickets in an over, including the crucial one of Fletcher.
