This evening saw the final of the LHK Group Tillian Cup take place between Malahide and Sandyford.

Sandyford won the toss and elected to bowl, a decision that initially seemed a questionable one as Malahide moved fluently to 28 inside 4 overs before sustaining the loss of Aaron Doyle. From there Sandyford took control of the middle overs reducing Malahide to 108/6 in the 16th over. The ever present entity for Malahide was Agnibesh Paul who looked to be batting on a different wicket to his teammates eventually finishing on 67 and in doing so guided his side to 143/7 from their 20 overs.

Malahide had a stranglehold from the word go in their bowling innings, an early wicket each for Ravi Kumar and David O’Halloran had their side in the box seat and they were unrelenting in their efforts though the middle fine spells from Neil Boyne (1/26), Kumar (1/13) and pick of the bowlers Timcy Khanduja (3/15) allowed their side to run out winners by 27 runs. Only a ‘fighting’ 30 from Skanda Rao provided any real resistance as Malahide steamrolled their way to the Tillain Cup for 2025.
Cricket Leinster would like to thank LHK Insurance for their sponsorship of this competition and their continued support of cricket in Leinster over the last few years.
