Lightning taking on the Knights this Sunday

The Leinster Lightning selectors have the pleasure in announcing the following squad for our final Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial 50-over match of the season against the Northern Knights in Leinster Cricket Club on Sunday the 31st July.

Having defeated both the Knights and the North-West Warriors away in the first two games of this competition, followed by a washout in The Hills last month, victory for the Lightning on Sunday will secure the 50-over trophy for the 3rd season running.

John Anderson, our captain, is unfortunately still unavailable following the injury he sustained batting for Ireland against Afghanistan so North County’s Eddie Richardson continues in the role, having lead the team to victory over the Knights last week to clinch the 2016 T20 title.

Squad for 1st July:
Eddie Richardson (Cpt – North County); Yaqoob Ali (YMCA); J. Carroll (Leinster); Peter Chase (Malahide); George Dockrell (Trinity/Leinster); Stephen Doheny (Rush); Dom Joyce (Merrion); Tyrone Kane (Merrion); Simi Singh (YMCA); Max Sorensen (The Hills); Sean Terry (YMCA); Lorcan Tucker (Trinity/Pembroke).

Stephen Doheny is back in the squad having made his Lightning debut earlier this season and is joined by Sean Terry who has recovered from injury.

The first ball will be bowled at 10:45am in Rathmines on Sunday and admission is free.
