Lightning Squad for three day match vs Warriors

12 MAN SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE RSA INTER-PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME VERSUS THE NORTH-WEST WARRIORS AT BREADY FROM THE 13TH TO 15TH AUGUST 2013

 

The Leinster Lightning selectors have the pleasure of announcing the following squad for the 3-day RSA Inter-Provincial Championship game against the North-West Warriors starting at 11am on Tuesday 13th August 2013 at Bready CC.

 

John Mooney (Capt-North County), Ben Ackland (Merrion), John Anderson (Merrion), Peter Chase (Malahide), Bill Coghlan (Clontarf), Pat Collins (Railway Union), Tyrone Kane (Merrion), Paul Lawson (Pembroke), Eddie Richardson (North County), Simmi Singh (YMCA), Max Sorenson (The Hills), Albert Van der Merwe (YMCA)

 

The team contains two newcomers with Pembroke’s Paul Lawson & YMCA’s Simmi Singh both coming into the match day squad.

 

The following players are not available due to injury:

Alex Cusack (back), Barry McCarthy (side) and Fintan McAllister (finger)

 

The following players were not released for play as they have work commitments as follows:

Kevin O’Brien - Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel

Stuart Poynter – Middlesex

Andrew Balbirnie - Middlesex

Andrew Poynter - Clontarf

Stephen Moreton - Cricket Ireland

Reinhardt Strydom - Cricket Leinster

 

As the table stands, we hold a narrow 2 point lead over the Northern Knights who have played a game more than Leinster. There are 2 more games left in this year’s Championship with Leinster playing the Knights later in the month.
