Leprechaun ‘4th Class Cup’ won by Willow Park

Willow Park school from Booterstown won the inaugural Antalis sponsored Leprechaun ‘4th Class Cup’ when defeating St Mary’s, Rathmines by 6 wickets at Pembroke cricket club yesterday.

Four schools entered the month-long tournament this year and plans are already in place to expand the teams next year.

St Mary’s 104/1, 20 overs (Matthew O’Connor 31, Dan McNulty 28*, Marcus O’Sullivan 1/8)

Willow Park 106/4, 18.3 overs (MacDara Cosgrove 36 ret, Tom Briggs 23, James Jury 3/25, Fionn Devereux 1/29)

Willow Park won by 6 wickets 

Another final takes place today, Thursday May 28th at The Hills CC (10.15am) where Milverton NS and Balrothery NS battle it out for the Fingal girl’s Super Cup, another new competition (sponsored by Antalis) launched this year.

Friday at Malahide CC will see local Primary school Oliver Plunkett’s NS play St John Bosco’s NS (Navan Road) in the Northside final of the Leprechaun Cup. The winners will play Southside finalists St Matthew’s, Irishtown or Kill of the Grange, Deans Grange who play each other early next week.
