Leinster Lightning Selections

The Leinster Lightning selectors have the pleasure in announcing the following squad for both of next week’s Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial matches against the North-West Warriors.

It’s been a solid unbeaten start for Ted Williamson’s team this season having played four matches to date across all three formats. The bid to retain our three titles continues next week with a 50-over clash in Strabane on Monday the 30th May followed by a 3-day Championship game starting on Tuesday the 31st May.

Squad for 30th May to 2nd June:

John Anderson (Cpt); Dom Joyce & Tyrone Kane (both Merrion); Peter Chase (Malahide); Andrew Poynter (Clontarf); Eddie Richardson (North County); Simmi Singh, Jack Tector & Yaqoob Ali (both YMCA); Lorcan Tucker (Trinity/Pembroke); George Dockrell (Trinity/Leinster); Max Sorensen (The Hills)

The squad for these matches reflects a number of changes, with Max Sorensen and Lorcan Tucker returning from injury/illness. Tucker’s return means that Jamie Grassi, who debuted in Clontarf two weeks ago misses out.

Bill Coghlan made himself unavailable for selection as he is playing in the MCC schools week in Cork and Dublin, and Kevin O’Brien continues his involvement with Leicestershire. Fintan McAllister also ruled himself out due to work commitments.

The first ball will be bowled in Strabane at 10:45am on Monday and in Bready each day from Tuesday at 11am. Admission is free on all days.
