Leinster Lightning Name Squads for Championship and IP20 Festival

The Leinster Lightning today announce two squads for Test Triangle Inter-Provincial action beginning next Monday August 12th with a Championship match against the North West Warriors and concluding next weekend with the T20 Festival at Bready Cricket Club.

The Lightning came agonisingly close to sharing the points in a badly rain affected draw with the Northern Knights at Stormont this week and will be looking to conclude the Championship season with a win against the Warriors at North County Cricket Club.

The squad sees two changes to the one announced for Stormont with Lorcan Tucker returning to keep wicket after his exams to replace Patrick Tice.

The second change sees Kevin O’Brien, who picked up a hamstring strain while bowling on Thursday August 8th, replaced by YMCA’s Fionn Hand.

Hand had been a late replacement in the 12-man panel for Stormont when Josh Little pulled out, but Little also returns at North County.

The second squad announced is for the Inter-Provincial T20 Festival taking place in the North West at Bready Cricket Club from Friday August 16th to Sunday August 18th.

That 13-man squad is the same panel who competed in the T20 Festival at Pembroke earlier in the summer and took on Middlesex in the Smartwater Summer Smash on June 21st.

At the festival, the Lightning face the Northern Knights on the opening day at 11.30am before facing the host North West Warriors on the Saturday evening at 4pm.

The final match at the festival for the Lightning is against the Munster Reds at 11.30am on Sunday August 18th.

All Leinster Lightning matches will be live scored on the match centre on www.cricketleinster.ie with regular updates on @lcu_lightning and @cricketleinster on Twitter.

Daily reports from North County and match reports from Bready will be posted on the website.
