Leinster Coach of the Year Award Announced

Congratulations on all those that have been nominated for the Leinster Coach of the Year Award. See list of the 17 nominated below.

Last night, at the Cricket Leinster AGM we announced the awards, decided on by the Leinster Coaches Association executive, as follows:

Winner of the Leinster Coaches of the Year Award (€75 voucher for the Cricket Shop - www.cricketshop.ie - and perpetual Cup which Deryck Vincent collected at the AGM):

Andrew Poynter for coaching with Clontarf CC & the Super 3s Scorchers squad. Much deserved award for his excellent work with kids and adults of all levels of ability. In local schools around Clontarf as well as in the club. His dedicated coaching of the Super 3s Scorcher squad bringing them to victory in all their matches completed.

Runners Up (€50 vouchers each for the Cricket Shop - www.cricketshop.ie ):

> Albert Van Der Merwe for his coaching in The Hills & massively successful coaching of Leinster Lightning.

> YMCA's Kamal Merchant for his ongoing excellent coaching in the local schools and in the club. Successful underage teams in YM and his one to one coaching that has brought so many young players on.

Shortlisted:

> Isobel Joyce for her coaching of Trinity College Dublin. Massive success for the Men's 2s there who won the league for the first time since 1996.

> Adamstown Cricket Club's Olag Sivanantham for the coaching he has done for both adult and kids teams in the club and locally to build a thriving new club that is growing from strength to strength.

We had 68 people who nominated a total of 17 coaches across Leinster. We did a draw from the 68 people and Ger Siggins won! He will be receiving a €30 voucher for the Cricket Shop - www.cricketshop.ie.
