It was a day to remember for The High School Dublin in Rathgar this afternoon, as they claimed the Boys Senior Cup for the first time in 36 years.

Having won the toss, the host team batted first and were on the back-foot immediately, an amazing first over for Tom Squires seeing Wesley take the first two wickets before a run was on the board, as he firstly had Ethan Clarke given out LBW without scoring, before Eli Clarke upper-cut his first ball to point.
That was, however as good as it got for the Ballinteer outfit, as Rob O'Brien batted sensibly to the half-way stage, before opening his shoulders to haul his side to a respectable score of 126/6 in 20 overs, sharing a key stand with Leo Dodd in the middle overs.

O'Brien ultimately top scored, making 74 in his side's total.
Any hopes Wesley had in the chase were quickly extinguished, Benjamin Dillon and Eli Clarke blasting their opposition out of the water with superb opening spells, with Dillon's 4-for seeing him the pick of the bowlers.

A superb all-round fielding display saw Wesley eventually dismissed for 50, as High School ran out 76 run winners.

The victorious side were presented with the Senior Cup by CL President for 2026, Brian Kelleher.

Congratulations to The High School Dublin, Senior Cup Champions for 2026, well done to all players, coaches, teachers and officials associated with the team on this brilliant achievement.
