Fixtures for the Sat of the August BH

Today sees the Semi-Finals of the two Irish Cup Competitions with five Leinster teams involved. In the RSA Irish Senior [Bob Kerr] Cup Merrion and The Hills both have difficult away assignments against Danemana and Waringstown respectively.  With the weather uncertain across the country, the best bet for a completed match is in the North West.

It is hoped that we will get regular updates from the two away venues – internet connections permitting.

In the RSA National Cup Balbriggan take on Rush in the only all Leinster affair. Civil Service travel to Muckamore.

The featured match in the domestic Leinster competions is the Middle Cup Final between YMCA III and Railway III which is being played at Laois CC. We will be getting scorecards and live scores from this match during the afternoon.

In the Leinster Open Competitions there are a number of important league fixtures. Clontarf II, who are currently top of D3 will have the opportunity to extend their lead if they can beat YMCA II [whose 3rds are engaged in the Middle Cup Final at the same time].

In D4 Railway Union II and North Kildare are second and third and the result of their match will have a major bearing on who will challenge Laois for the top spot.  It is the same in

D8 where Dundrum II and Leinster V are competing to challenge Clontarf IV

D9 between Mullingar II and Dundalk who are chasing Adamstown and

D11 between Raidway IV and The Hills IV who are chasing Knockharley II.

In D5 it is a different sort of contest as the two teams, Railway III & Leinster III, are in the relegation spots and go head to head. Clonee and Rush II are also battling each other to avoid relegation in D6.

In D9 the leaders Adamstown will hope to consolidate their position with a win over N County IV. The leaders Sandyford II take on third place Swords in D10.

In D12 there is an intriguing return fixture where Greystones, who are leading the league, will want to avenge their SF defeat in the Junior Cup to Merrion VII.

In D13 Ring Common will hope to extend their lead with a win over Sandford III who are just one above the relegation zone.

Finally, in D14 where there is very little to choose between leaders Clonee II and Dundrum III, if Dundrum defeat bottom placed Wicklow they will go top.

Anyone that is out and about and can tweet scores to the Match Centre during the day please do so. Remember – #cricketleinster
