All three teams playing ‘away’ today went home with the points in the IBI Corporate Finance First Team League. Today’s wins have served to further tighten the league table in what is proving to be a very competitive level of cricket.
TERENURE WIN BY 61 RUNS
So firstly in Oak Hill, Terenure won the toss and enjoyed the Wicklow sunshine as they amassed 333/8 with captain Henry Dall leading the way with an imposing 157 which included 24 boundaries. Dall was well supported again this week by Sid Nair (45), Zeeshan Mumtaz (27) and Sophie Reid who chipped in with 23. Both Dinesh Antony (3/54) and Angad Bawa (3/50) took three wickets apiece in a challenging day for bowlers at Oak Hill.

The Adamstown chase was largely built around a fine centuryfrom Prashanth Prabhu Damodaran with support from Jaivir Singh Oberoi (30), Aryan Adelkar (28) and Sidharth Biju (27), as together they extended the Adamstown innings to the final over, falling 61 runs short in the end. Damodaran was only dismissed In the final over but not before he had completed his hundred. Bhavric Tukrel and Thomas Shand shared six wickets for Terenure.
THE HILLS WIN BY 29 RUNS
Meanwhile in Kentstown, Knockharley inserted The Hills who accumulated a useful 229/8 off their allotted overs with significant contributions from Joe Fletcher (68) and Andy Kavanagh (62).These two put on 119 for the 5th wicket ensuring a competitive team score in their first outing to County Meath. Syed Mehdi (4/49) was best with the ball for Knockharley.

In reply, the Knockharley openers put on 71 for the first wicket after which the chase subsided in the face of some tight bowling from debutant Roxton Payne (4/34) and veteran Tomas Rooney-Murphy (3/20) – in aggregate Payne and Rooney-Murphy finished with figures of 20-2-55-7!

Once Payne and Rooney-Murphy had completed their spells, The Hills struggled to close out the Knockharley innings as the hosts late order continued to accumulate valuable runs and points, a fine unbeaten 9th wicket partnership between Syed Mehdi 40* and Wahaj Mehmood Butt 26* yielded 74 runs albeit in a losing cause.

NORTH KILDARE WIN BY 75 RUNS
And finally at Farmer’s Cross, North Kildare chose to bat first and set the home side 251 for victory based on another 50 for captain Yash Kalasannavar and runs down the order for Akhilesh Sharma (46 at number 7) and Ganesh Sharma who finished unbeaten on 38. All the Quins bowlers stuck to their task with Jiju Kalathera achieving a best return of 3/35 including the prize wicket of Kalasannavar.

In reply, Quins lost wickets at regular intervals with only Seanan Jones and Shivan Kisley offering any real hope for the Cork side. The wickets for North Kildare were shared across the attack with Nazmus Monon (4/35) doing the early damage before Abdul Aryan (3/44) swept up the tail despite some entertaining late order hitting from Umer Khan who finished with 24 as Quins were all out for 175 in the 39th over.
