It was a day of double delight for the Leinster Women's U19s in Campbell College today, as a brace of half-centuries for Izzy McLean proved to be the backbone of a pair of victories over both the North West and NCU to round off the T20 section of the competition atop the table.

Game one of the day saw Leinster batting first, and an excellent opening stand between skipper Aisling Lawlor (37) and McLean saw 100 on the board before a wicket went down. That wicket was of McLean, who made an excellent 76 from just 53 balls, including 8 boundaries and 3 maximums.
Gemma Sargent's 18 took just three scoring shots, as she hammered maximums off half of the balls she faced in helping boost the score from 120 to 150, as Leinster finished on 160/8 from their 20 overs.

The bowling performance was professional as could be hoped for, the North West restricted to 114/7 in their 20 overs, as the wickets were shared by 7 different wicket takers, as no partnerships were allowed to develop in securing a 46 run win.
The second game of the day saw Leinster bowling first against the NCU, and a fine start with the ball saw two wickets for each of Aoife Hayden and Sinead Thomson, accompanied by one for each of Darcey Dalwood and skipper Lawlor to the fore. The NCU were 55/5 and in a position where a recovery would be tough.
They did however recover to 129/6 in 20 overs, and after the early dismissal of Lawlor, things could have gone either way. Genevieve Morrissey and McLean however this time combined, adding 96 for the second wicket in good time to put Leinster ahead of the chase.
Morrissey finished with 36 from 40 balls, however when herself and McLean both fell within 6 runs of each other, a wobble once again became possible. Gemma Sargent however once again showed her ability to find the boundary, this time striking 19 off just 9 deliveries to guide the side to victory with 4 overs to spare!
