Based on the outcome of various fundraising events and donations, we are now in a position to support a once-off distribution under the CL Inclusion Fund to some worthy club-based projects.
As most people will know, the CL Inclusion Fund was announced last year by the CL Board in memory of our friend and colleague, Paul Reynolds who tragically passed in late 2023. The CL Inclusion Fund is intended to honour and promote the ethos & values which Paul embodied in his capacity as a lead volunteer within cricket in Leinster and beyond.
In line with what was committed at the outset, the funds will be allocated to projects which enhance inclusion at club level with a major focus on ethnicity, gender and mixed ability initiatives such as:
- establishing table and/or walking cricket including equipment, training etc.
- establishing and/or sustaining female cricket including coaching support, equipment etc.
- addressing rudimentary facilities challenges including portaloos, improved shelter, water containers etc.
- supporting the development & roll-out of practical and tangible inclusion initiatives which recognise/celebrate diversity.
The CL Inclusion Fund is now open for applications which will be via a simple form (which can be found here) to be returned via e-mail to the CL office by Friday 30th May.
As you will see, the application form confirms that grants will be given for amounts between €250.00 and €1,000.00 and on the basis that the applicant club will self-fund at least 50% of the cost of the project.
The disbursement of grants will then be completed at an event for successful applicant clubs in late June which will be hosted by Meena Baskarasubramanian as CL President and Jennifer Richards for the Reynolds family.
