As some people within the CL club cricket community may have heard, we will shortly be losing Isobel Joyce from our team having done a brilliant job for CL as Women's & Girls Development Officer over recent years.
Isobel leaves us at the end of April and will take up an expanded media role within sport and we wish Isobel every success in her new role. Isobel will continue to participate on the CL Women's Committee so we will still have some access to her expertise which is appreciated.
As a consequence, we now wish to appoint a new CL Women’s & Girls Development Officer to build on the good work completed over recent years and to drive the next wave of growth and development of female cricket across Leinster.
We are very appreciative of the continued support from Cricket Ireland in funding this strategically important role.
Not surprisingly, we are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for supporting and developing people, and working with multiple clubs and organisations. The role combines coaching and development work and will be responsible for engaging women and girls across Leinster into becoming active members of local cricket hubs or clubs.
A major focus of the role will be on supporting existing clubs with female programmes to retain their existing members (especially through the teenage years into adult cricket) and expand their base (more players and more teams). Equally, this role is about supporting clubs with no female cricket to embrace the opportunity to develop a women’s & girls programme with all the associated benefits for the club in terms of inclusion, sustainability and much more.
On the performance side, this role will be responsible for the CL underage girls pathway programme and in ensuring that all girls have the opportunity to reach their full cricket potential within the CL competition structures and training programmes.
The successful candidate will be passionate about, and committed to, cricket development at a local level and for this role, it would be an advantage (although not a requirement) if you have experience of cricket/sports development at a grassroots level coupled with a sound knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the game.
Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised using their own initiative. You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills. Equally you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for the development of cricket/sport for young people.
The successful candidate can be assured of competitive terms & conditions commensurate with such a critical role within our structures and in line with their level of experience/expertise.
Please note that applicants must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland. This appointment is for an initial 12-month full-time contract commencing as soon as possible.
To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter by email to Philip Smith, General Manager, Cricket Leinster (philip.smith@cricketleinster.ie) before Tuesday 30th April with interviews to follow shortly thereafter for any short-listed candidates.
