The CL Autumn General meeting was completed this evening at Pembroke CC.
A minutes silence was observed in memory of those who had sadly passed since the Autumn meeting in November 2024.
There were specific reports from each of the competition committees which were reviewed and approved by the meeting. All committees were thanked for their contribution to the running of Cricket Leinster over the past 12 months.
Aedamar Howlett (Railway Union), Asad Ali (Castleknock) and Alan Maginnis (Phoenix) were all elected to serve as Directors on the Board of the Leinster Cricket Union CLG.
Nominations had been received prior to the meeting for all governance roles which were confirmed and approved by the meeting. No ballots were required on this occasion. All 36 committee posts were filled by nominees from 23 different clubs across the province.
The list of people elected for 2026 is outlined below.

Meena Baskarasubramanian (CL President – 2025) addressed the meeting summarizing her year as President and outlining what an honour it had been to serve in this leadership role. She thanked all those within the club cricket community who had supported her along the way in fulfilling her role.
As Board Chair, John Heavey presented Meena with a small gift in recognition of her brilliant service as CL President for 2025 and for her contribution as a CL Board member since incorporation in 2017.

Brian Kelleher was then confirmed as the new CL President for 2026. Brian thanked Meena for her service. As a long-time member at Terenure CC and Director of Coaching for Cricket Leinster for over 30 years, Brian acknowledged all those who have supported him over many years involved in cricket at so many levels. He looked forward to his year in office and outlined his intention to prioritise coach education and improved discipline as key themes for his tenure as President.

Brian enthused about the diversity of the club cricket community in Leinster and his desire to ensure we are inclusive in all aspects of how we operate.

As Chair, John Heavey briefed the meeting that Albert Harper of Balbriggan CC has been nominated by the Board as CL President Elect for 2026, meaning that Albert will succeed Brian as President in 2027.
Given the successful growth and development of Balbriggan CC, John noted that Albert will be an excellent role model as Cricket Leinster President, that he spans both the traditionalists and the newer emerging cricketers and that he is already a leader in club cricket especially in his beloved Fingal. Albert’s nomination was approved by acclamation.
