A sublime bowling effort from the leading bowler in the First Team League was the performance of the day in the Phoenix Park this afternoon, as Civil Service secured their place in the Premier League next season with a rapid run-chase victory against Adamstown.

Aamir Bafanda claimed a sensational 7/26, as Service dismantled a strong start by Adamstown, reducing them from 51/0 to 91 all out, with a solid start from Sidarth Biju (35) and Niranjan Shankar falling flat in the face of a superb bowling effort.

The Civil Service chase had a remarkably similar cadence to it, as Kushal Narang dominated at the start, making 34 of the first 58 runs, before an unbelievable spell from Prabhanshu Kamal saw three wickets fall on that score, and reduced them to 68/6. It was left however to Mubasher Siddique, and the hero of the hour Bafanda, to add the final 11 runs, giving Civil Service a 3 wicket victory and sending them into the Premier League for the 2026 season!
Congratulations to all involved at Civil Service on winning the inaugural First Team League for 2025, and earning promotion to the Premier League for next season! A superb achievement for all involved!
