BRADFORD PARK AVE LADIES TOUR UPDATE (WED 3.7.2024)

Whilst the Leinster U17/Futures team prevailed on Day One in the 50-Over match, Bradford Park Avenue Ladies came back strongly on Day Two (Wed 3rd July) securing victory in both of todays T20 fixtures.

In the first game, Leinster batted first and struggled to just 59-6 off their full 20 overs with only Lucy Barry with 20 featuring with the bat. The Bradford bowlers are contributed to restricting Leinster and in particular, Halima Khan (2-6) and N Nazir 2-12).

The chase proved relatively straightforward for Bradford as they achieved their target in the 12th over for the loss of just 2 wickets with G Cant 39* at the end off just 31 balls.

In the later game, Bradford batted first scoring 103-7 off their allotted overs, G Cant with 33 and Mel Vaggers with 25, both underpinning the innings. The most successful bowlers for Leinster were Lucy Barry (2-11) and Elyse Jones (2-15).

In response, Leinster were restricted to just 67 All Out with some tight bowling from the touring side. Opener Izzy McLean top scored with 26 with no other contribution of note with the bat for Leinster.

Thursday 4th is a rest day and a chance for the Bradford Ladies to see some of Dublin before the tour concludes at Kenure on Friday.
