Many thanks to everyone who has sent in photos this week. A great selection.
A bit of a them this week - perhaps, the Anatomy of the Delivery.
First up, is this shot taken by John Murphy, a member of Tallaght Photographic Society. John happened to be in Marlay Park at the weekend, and stumbled upon the Sandyford 1 vs North County 3 match. This photo shows Ross Staunton of North County in mid leap, as umpire Sean McCann looks on. We're not sure what happened to this delivery, but Sandyford went on to win the game by 64 runs.
John Murphy's other work can be found on his flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcmurphy
After the bowler has leaped and delivered, one of two things can happen.
Either he can take a wicket, or not.
First we have Neil Ferreria of The Hills showing the latter. This was the moment Neil brough up his 50 in the Junior Cup match against Cabinteely last week, a match The Hills 4 won by 6 wickets.
The photo has been sent in by our resident monthly winner - Michael Gavin
Of course if the batsman fails to make contact, he could be in trouble. And it happens to all of us, demonstrated here by Jeremy Bray. prodigious run-scorer, multi record holder, and in this photo, bowled Ronan MacDonald for 27.
Rodney Smythe sends this in, and plenty more to come from Rodney next week!
Thanks to all
