  3. Averages for Division 1 & II [10th June, 2011]
14th June 2011 by Gerry Byrne

Averages for Division 1 & II [10th June, 2011]

Apologies for the delay in sending these out but I got caught up in a few things over weekend.

Following a piece on the Leinster CC site from Allen Smith of Leinster, I have included clubs opposite the players. I did not do this before as there were technical difficulties that had causeed me problems but for this season, at least, those problems are overcome.

Batting

Minimum runs required have been increased to 200. Shahid Iqbal is now top of the tree with an average just under 150. Andre Botha has the most runs at 386 following his 3rd hundreds in four innings. That, as people are no doubt aware, was his 24th hundred in Leinster Senior Cricket and makes him the holder of the record for most hundreds. However, he is only just ahead of Jeremy Bray so that race may not be over yet. So far only Andre, Max Sorensen and Simmi Singh are over the 300 run mark.

Bowling

Again a small increase in the minimum wickets to 10. Jimmy Govan still tops the tree with an average of 9.23. Malcolm Byrne continues at the head of wickets taken with 14, narrowly ahead of Jimmy Govan.

Catches

Here the minimum required figure has increased to 4. Top of the list are Mark Dwyer and Max Sorensen.

Wicket Keepers.

Pembroke's Rohit Bahl continues to head this list, and has increased his lead over Dara Armstrong to 3.  David Casey of North County 2 is the only player so far this season to take 5 dismissals in an innings as wicket keeper.

All-Rounders

As I said last week I am now including All-Rounders. The starting qualifying figures are 100 runs and 4 wickets or dismissals as wicket keeper. Andre’s runs have shot him to the top - though not that far ahead of Jimmy Govan - with Rohit Bahl representing the all round wicket keepers in 3rd place.

Batting Averages. Minimum 200 Runs
