  3. Another heavy programme of matches today
4th May 2014 by Eddie Lewis

Another heavy programme of matches today

A pleasant Saturday afternoon [excepting in the North of Dublin where some drizzle saw the Leinster Lightnings match ending with DL] saw only one [Cork County v Leinster II] of the 13 reported matches rained off. There were good wins against the odds [or at least Paul Reynolds’ predictions] for Merrion IV against Malahide III [D4] and Balbriggan III against Civil Service IV [D14]. There were also emphatic wins for Dublin University II [D7], Greystones II [D14], Pembroke V [D10] and YMCA III [D4]
Information is a little scatty on individual performances. A century by Peter Auret was enough to bring or Slieve Bloom home against Rush III but another by Fionn Hand for North County [v Clontarf III] was in a losing cause.
Today sees another large programme with 22 matches scheduled across Leinster. There is one postponement - the Dublin University II v Clontarf IV game in College Park. Towards the top of the leagues there are three fixtures each in D3 and D4 where Clontarf II [D3] and Dundrum [D4] will be seeking to consolidate their places at the top of the respective leagues.
The big match of the day is probably in Corkagh Park where a fancied Adamstown II team get their first outing against Lucan who are currently running away with the league with 3/3 wins. Even at this early stage an important match to open up D11.
Previews of all the matches are up on the RSA Match [Live Scores] Centre. Again can I ask those attending or playing in matches across the province to send in tweets to the Match Centre. You can do this by using #cricketleinster. If you also have the match ID you can upload directly to the relevant match i.e. #**** . You can get the Match ID by selecting the match on the Live Match Centre.
