ANNABEL WALSH WINS MOST IMPROVED PLAYER FOR 2025!

The final individual award to be confirmed from the Women’s Competitions for 2025 is the Farrell-Pilkington Trophy, awarded to the Most Improved Player in all competitions for the season.

The most recent winners of this award include Sarah Forbes (Pembroke), Sarah Prendergast (Terenure) and Christina Coulter-Reilly (Clontarf) whilst other internationals to receive the award include Amy Hunter (Malahide) and Una Raymond-Hoey (Clontarf).

This season, the award goes to Annabel Walsh, of Clontarf CC, with the 14-year-old having a tremendous break-through season, finishing up as second highest wicket-taker across all Women’s Competitions this season, as she claimed 27 victims, with 17 coming in Division 2, the most in that league, and a further 8 in the Premier League.

When compared with her 2024 season, when Annabel took 3 wickets, all in Division 3, at an average of 15.33, this means she claimed a remarkable 24 more wickets in 2025, and, in spite of playing almost all of her cricket in the higher Divisions this time around, even improved her average, with the 27 wickets costing just 13.41 apiece.

The stand-out performance for Walsh came in July, when she claimed 4/7 in Kenure, against Rush, and in doing so, helped her side to a 6 run win, which had looked improbable earlier in the evening.
