All to play for in Pembroke
On Sunday 3rd August, Pembroke Cricket Club are once again this year hosting our ‘home’ Newstalk Inter-Provincial T20 Blitz day. There is one played in each of the three unions participating in the Inter-Provincial series, this being the 3rd and final day of 2014.
Leinster Lightning are playing in both games on the day, firstly against the Northern Knights and then against the North-West Warriors. There is everything to play for as we currently lie tied 2nd with the Knights having beaten them in North Down a week ago. The North-West Warriors top the table with two wins, having beaten us in Bready in early July and then defeated the Knights in their back yard.
The first match against the Knights starts at 11am and finishes at 2pm. This is followed by the potential winner-takes-all clash versus the Warriors starting at 3:30pm. During the interval a series of kwik-cricket matches featuring young players from local clubs will take place.
The charge for the day is €6 with Under-16′s & Cricket Ireland members getting in free. This includes parking in the ground. Food and drink will be available in the ground (no alcohol may be bought in).
