  3. Adrian D’Arcy still not out!
22nd June 2015 by Paul Reynolds

Adrian D’Arcy still not out!

The weekend's four Division 1 matches saw two tight finishes, as YMCA and Malahide beat Clontarf and Pembroke respectively, although it is North county who remain top, as their unbeaten league run stretched to four matches after a big win over Railway Union. In the final match, Merrion gained revenege for their cup defeat with a big win against Cork County.

There were three centuries, with Simmi Singh masterminding YMCA's win with 107, and fellow Lightning player Fintan McAllister, doing the same for Malahide. David Rhoda's 106* was the basis of Merrion's big total of 304-7, which was 103 runs too many for Cork County.

With the ball Clontarf's Joe Morrissey returned the best bowling, with 5-74, Joe's best return since last August, when Joe took 5-14 in the same venue!

Highest Batting average in Division 1 - Marchant Cup (current qualification - 150 runs)

Qualification stays the same, which means Adrian D'Arcy gets another week at the top. He added another 34 unbeaten runs on Saturday, and has now scored an fairly incredible 185 unbeaten runs this year.

Merrion overseas player David Rhoda may not be eligible for the award, but his unbeaten 106* at the weekend moved his average to 174 for the season. Behind these two, Jack Tector (YMCA), Eoghan Delanay (Clontarf), Andrew Poynter (Clontarf), Simmi Singh (YMCA) and Stephan Grobler (Cork County) are all lurking with averages of over 50.
