ADAMSTOWN PREVAIL IN CORK DESPITE A VALIANT EFFORT FROM QUINS! (19.7.2026)

In a game with many twists and turns, Adamstown’s overseas player successfully marshalled the tail to deliver a 2 wicket win after Seanan Jones and Matt Brewster had reduced the visitors to 84/7 with still 94 runs needed.

Adamstown travelled to Farmer’s Cross, won the toss and inserted the home side.

In similar fashion to the game at Kentstown, Quins made a solid start with Adam Hickey and Callum Stevenson putting on 60 for the first wicket. Hickey was then dismissed by Dinesh Antony for a well made 29. It was all down-hill for the home side from this point as wickets fell at regular intervals such that Quins had been reduced to 124/8 in the 21st over.

Vikranth Masina then led a mini-recovery with support from Magesh Kumar (at number 10) as the pair added 30 for the 9th wicket. Masina was last man out for a valuable 40 and in doing so 53 were added for the last 2 wickets - Quins all out for 177 with 18.4 overs unused.

The wickets for Adamstown were shared across their attack with Abhishek Sam and Dinesh Antony both picking up 3-fors. The only disappointing aspect for Adamstown will have been their concession of 40 extras in the 31 overs bowled - extras equating for 23% of the Quins total!

The opening bowlers for Quins (Seanan Jones and Matt Brewster) combined effectively to reduce Adamstown to 84/7 in only the 16th over of the chase as the visitors struggled to build any meaningful partnerships. Only Prashanth Damodaran had shown any fluency with the bat to this point. He was then joined by Abhishek Sam (batting at 9) and together they added 56 for the 8th wicket before Sam fell to Jiju Kalathera for a valuable 24.

38 were still needed by Adamstown at this stage, 2 wickets for Quins.

Damodaran then found further solid support from number 10 (Jaivir Singh Oberoi) as together they saw Adamstown home to a 2-wicket win which had looked unlikely some 90 minutes earlier when they had been reduced to 84/7!

Damodaran finished unbeaten on 61* with Oberoi making an undefeated and priceless 21* off just 14 balls.

Adamstown head home with a 2-wicket win and 21 points!
