ADAMSTOWN CLAIM U15 CUP! (JULY 29TH)

Tonight saw the Gresham House U15 Open Cup Final take place on a beautiful evening at The Hills Cricket Club. This final was fought out by Adamstown CC and a combined XI made up of Balbriggan and The Hills. The away team won the toss and elected to bat first.

Adamstown lost the wicket of wicketkeeper-batsman Nirban Singh early, after a mix up in the middle saw him stranded and run out, leaving them 7/1. This only brought together what would prove to be the main pairing of the Adamstown innings in Angad Bawa and Shravon Biju. This pair started sedately at first, moving their side to only 41 at the midpoint of their innings, however, they built momentum and were able to get their side going. When Biju was dismissed for 27 off the bowling of Ryan Keenan, Bawa took things up a notch eventually powering his side to 127, he was dismissed in the final over for a fine 53 by Gautam Rana, who excelled throughout for his side. It was a strong bowling effort from The Hills/Balbriggan, with Gautam Rana the pick of the bowlers with 2/11 from his 4 overs.

The Hills/Balbriggan’s chase never really got going, in spite of Keenan and Rana taking 16 off the first two overs. From that point onwards, it was all Adamstown, Shravon Biju removed both openers in a fine spell of quick bowling that eventually saw him claim final figures of 3/10 from 3 overs. The Hills/Balbriggan rebuilt somewhat but when Vihaan Kamra entered the attack he put paid to any chance they had of getting over the line, he bowled a sublime spell and finished with the outrageous figures of 4/4 from 2 overs as his side ran out comfortable 90 run winners.

Cricket Leinster would like to thanks Gresham House for their support of youth cricket in Leinster for 2025.
