In an incredibly exciting development for cricket in the club, Adamstown CC are delighted to announce the first players to travel to India on placement. This is a very ambitious plan to developing cricket further within the club and is the product of significant work over a long period of time.
Adamstown Cricket Club have come into an arrangement with Sri Vignesh Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School and Alchemy Sports Centre based in Tiruchirappalli, India as part of this overseas placement. This arrangement will see two transition year students undergo extensive cricket training and playing experience with Vignesh Vidyalaya school cricket team and get cricket coaching in Alchemy Sports Centre under renowned coach Mr. Veeraraghavan Ramachandran. This will give the players the opportunity to spend over two months in a famous cricket culture, but those selected, traditionally in their ‘Transition Year’ academically, will be fully emerged in the Indian school, family and culture.
The Players selected are Arvind Olaganathan (Adamstown Community College) and Nithin Namburu (St. Mac Dara’s Community College).
Adamstown CC is thankful to all those who have supported this placement as families, host clubs, and for all those who have ensured the young visiting students experience in full the local way of life.
No doubt everyone at Cricket Leinster will wish these players every success in this brilliant initiative.
