Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce that the 2020 Your Club/Your Province Draw (which ran from May to December) has raised over €55,000 for the benefit of clubs throughout the province.
Given the ongoing restrictions associated with Covid-19, ticket sales took place on an ‘on-line’ basis only on this occasion.
All clubs are to be congratulated for the extent to which they engaged their members, friends and beyond to raise much needed funds for club cricket especially during what has been a most challenging year.
We were delighted that almost every club participated in the Draw - the top performers being North County Cricket Club which sold 355 tickets at an aggregate value of €5,325 and Terenure Cricket Club which sold 342 tickets at an aggregate value of €5,130.
The other significant fundraisers were The Hills CC (€3,495), Mullingar CC (€3,450), Railway Union CC (€3,270), Balbriggan CC (€3,255), Rush CC (€3,125) and Laois CC (€2,880).
The top 10 clubs on the list raised almost €35K between them.
It is expected that the Prize Draw itself will take place within the next few days - with all winners to be announced on our website and social media immediately after the Draw.
For 2021, it is likely that the Club Draw will take place on an All-Ireland basis under the auspices of Cricket Ireland and in collaboration with all other provinces - more to come on that in due course.
Thanks again to all those who participated in the 2020 Draw through the promotion, purchasing and selling of tickets - it is hugely appreciated.
Final payouts to clubs will take place during week commencing 11th January.
