WINS FOR THE HILLS, NORTH KILDARE & ADAMSTOWN IN THE FIRST TEAM LEAGUE (8.8.2026)

The Hills consolidated their position at the top of the IBI Corporate Finance First Team League with a comprehensive win over second-placed Knockharley and with a game in-hand.

Meanwhile North Kildare travelled to Cork and left with 23 points to overtake Terenure and move into third place in the league table.

And finally, Adamstown successfully chased 223 in sunny Oak Hill to close the gap between themselves and Terenure to just a couple of points in what is turning out to be a very competitive competition.

ADAMSTOWN PREVAIL BY 4 WKTS OVER TERENURE AT OAK HILL

Terenure chose to bat first at Oak Hill and accumulated a competitive 223 all out with almost 7 overs unused. Two partnerships underpinned this total – the first between Sophie Reid and Gareth Morgan which put on 67 for the sixth wicket and then Kripesh Shetty (batting at 9) marshalled the tail to add 59 for the last three wickets including 37 with Naveed Khan for the last wicket. Shetty remained unbeaten on 44 as he ran out of batting partners in the 43rd over. Adamstown will have been pleased with their disciplined performance in the field with all five bowlers in the wickets.

Overseas player, Prashanth Prabhu Damodaran, once again provided the back-bone of the Adamstown chase and he was supported by Dinesh Antony (27) with whom he added 52 for the 4th wicket and Niranjan Muthu with whom he added a further 56 for the 5th wicket. When Muthu was dismissed by Henry Dall, Adamstown had reached 160/5 off 28.2 overs, 64 required off 22 overs with 5 wickets in-hand. Nithin Namburu hit a couple of lusty blows before becoming Dall’s second wicket with 44 still required by Adamstown.

There were  no further scares for Adamstown as Abhishek Sam (29*) combined with Damodaran add an unbeaten 44 runs for the 7th wicket and close out the win with 11.5 overs to spare. Damodaran finished unbeaten on 90* off 89 balls (7X4, 2X6).

KILDARE BEAT QUINS BY 6 WKTS

Despite winning the toss at home and batting first, the Cork Harlequins innings never gained any momentum or meaningful partnerships to the extent that their innings subsided to just 113 all out in only the 29th over. Nicholas Hunter did most of the damage for the Kildare team finishing with 5/15 off his five overs whilst Nuralain Boda and Abdul Aryan both chipped in with a brace.

In reply, North Kildare had reached 58/2 by the time tea was taken with Moize Harder unbeaten on 26* at that stage. Both of the wickets had fallen to the ever reliable Seanan Jones including the Kildare captain, Yash Kalasannavar for a second ball duck. After tea, Jones completed his allotted overs for the concession of just 30 runs however it was plain sailing for the visitors from the other end. By the time Haider was dismissed for 44, Kildare had reached 95/3 off just 20 overs with just 19 required for the win. Yashraj Mate finished the match in style with a maximum off the first ball of the 25th over to see Kildare head home with a 6-wicket win and 23 points.

THE HILLS BEAT KNOCKHARLEY BY 111 RUNS FOR MAX POINTS

Knockharley won the toss at The Vineyard and inserted the home side who made 211 all out with 5 overs unused. The batting highlight for The Hills was a solid 48 from Nathan Rooney and useful 20s from Muzamil Sherzad, Max Robertson Andrew Kavanagh whilst no batter managed to dominate the Knockharley attack at any stage. Daneyaal Janjua (3/36) and Syed Mehdi (3/49) were the pick of the Meath bowlers whilst the experienced Jack Condie and Kashif Ali also chipped in with a couple of wickets each to restrict the chase to 212 at 4.24 runs per over.

The Knockharley chase got off to a cautious and uncertain start such that they had managed just 23/2 off the first 10 overs. The next 10 overs yielded a further 39 runs for the loss of two more wickets – 150 were still needed off the remaining 30 overs at 5 runs per over, Don Retty was 25 not out at that stage off 48 balls. When Retty was then run out for 32 in a mix-up with Ehtesham Ahmed, Knockharley had been reduced to 72/6 in the 24th over.

Febin Manoj (2/12) and Yaseen Sherzad (3/12) made light work of the Knockharley tail to close out the innings for just 100 runs which consolidates The Hills position at the top of the table with maximum points today.
