  3. The 'Virtual' Senior League Cup
20th April 2020 by Cricket Leinster

The 'Virtual' Senior League Cup

As cricket, like everything else, remains suspended the first truly busy weekend of the season left grounds around the province quiet.

The highest profile competition at this time of year, the IBI Corporate Finance Senior League Cup, should have started on Saturday with a series of keenly contested matches. The first weekend of the season is always a nervous one, with clubs looking to see how their pitches will play, how the changes to the team will bed in and how their opposition are looking for the games to come.

In the absence of this season launch, the Cricket Leinster Twitter Account ran a series of polls to decide the results for the first round of matches in the Virtual IBI Corporate Finance SLC.

There was a great reaction to the polls, with various clubs looking to marshal resources to 'get out the vote'. Over 1500 votes were cast and overall an audience of over 16,000 was reached. This is a great indication of the interest levels in cricket in the province.

Based on the percentage votes cast the following virtual tables have been produced.
