  3. SENIOR MEN’S T20 FINALS DAY (SATURDAY 11.7.2026)
11th July 2026 by Cricket Leinster

SENIOR MEN’S T20 FINALS DAY (SATURDAY 11.7.2026)

The LHK Group Senior Men's T20 Final is scheduled to take place at 4.00pm in Sydney Parade and will be live-streamed on the CL YouTube channel for anyone who can't make it to the ground.

The semi-finals will precede the Final (both at 11.00am) as follows:

PEMBROKE vs PHOENIX (11.00am, Sydney Parade)
LEINSTER vs MALAHIDE (11.00am, Park Avenue)

Despite enjoying major success in recent years at Premier League, Senior Cup and Irish Senior Cup levels, the Senior Men’s T20 (Alan Murray) Cup has thus far eluded the golden age generation of players at Pembroke CC.

Since the competition was established back in 1952, Pembroke have won it on 9 occasions, the last of which was some 18 years ago in 2008. That said, Pembroke will host Phoenix in the first semi-final at Sydney Parade as favourites given their star-studded line-up and recent league & cup form in other competitions.

Jack Tector will be hoping to lift the Alan Murray Cup again having won it with YM in 2020

Meanwhile, their semi-final opponents, Phoenix will be looking to repeat last year’s feat when they beat The Hills at the same stage before overcoming Leinster to capture the Alan Murray trophy for their 5th time in the history of the competition. George Dockrell was undoubtedly the hero on Finals Day last year as he made back-to-back hundreds to help Phoenix overcome The Hills in the semi and then squeeze out Leinster by five runs in a thrilling Final.

George Dockrell was the hero of last year’s Finals Day

The other 2026 semi-final will take place simultaneously at Park Avenue when 2024 Champions Leinster will be favourites to prevail against Malahide and make it three AMC finals in 3 years for the Rathmines club. Leinster have won this trophy on 5 previous occasions and actually defeated Malahide in last year’s semi-final on the back of a Tom Johnson half century and four wickets for Jai Moondra.

Leinster’s win in the 2024 Final was in large part powered by Gareth Delany as he plundered 85 (8 sixes and 8 fours) in aconvincing 59-run win for his club over Pembroke that day.

Bilal Azhar captained Leinster to the AMC Trophy in 2024

That said, Malahide has been won of the more successful clubs in this competition and will be hoping to lift the Senior T20 Cup for a 9th time – the last of their wins was In 2019 when the villagers emerged victorious with a 32-run victory over Clontarf in the Final. Matt Ford was the hero of the hour on that occasion as he bludgeoned the Clontarf attack to all parts of the ground, striking five boundaries and three maximums in his 79.

From a Cricket Leinster perspective, we are hugely appreciative of the enduring sponsorship support we receive from LHK Insurance Group which has sponsored this competition for the past 10 years.

Our thanks in particular to Keith Young and Rachel Hohn at LHK for this support. Rachel will be with us for the after-match ceremonies including presentation of the trophy to the winning team.

Thanks also to the Pembroke Live Stream team for their support, expertise and commitment to the promotion of club cricket - we were delighted to recognise this at last year's CL Awards Night when the live-stream team were presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award.
