Bagenalstown 2 won the Junior Cup for the first time on September 9th, although they were denied the opportunity to lift the cup on the day. Leinster 5 were subsequently found to have played an ineligible player, with the OCC awarding the title to Bagenalstown. It was a momentous way to crown Bagenalstown's 150th year, and whilst it was only the second Cricket Leinster Cup that the club have won, it was the 2nd team's second cup in three seasons, after 2016's Minor Cup.

Captain Dammar Budhathoki got the team off to fantastic start on their cup run, taking 4-32 to restrict Sandyford to 86, before scoring a important 16* to rescue his team from 32-5. A big 153 run win over The Hills 4 followed in the quarter final, with Shozab Ali Taj's 77 getting Bagenalstown to 213-8. Budhathoki was again in the wickets with 3-14. Zeeshan Mumtaz took 3-21 and Khurram Mumtaz 3-7 to bowl out The Hills for 60.

The semi final saw only four players get into double figures as Bagenalstown advanced to the final after a 37 run win over AIB 1. Shozab Ali Taj made 30, and Zeeshan Mumtaz 71 as Bagenalstown reached 80-1 and then 107-2. Players then came and went (without getting more than nine!) ,to get Gabenalstown to 163.

Pardeep Hooda instantly put the match in Bagenalstown's favour, leaving AIB at 31-5 (on his way for 5-17). But Sathya Narayanan (49) and Ashwani Tomar (32) gave AIB hope. 90-5 was as good as it got though, AIB collapsing to 126 all out.

Bagenalstown will be presented with their Cup at the Cricket Leinster Awards night.
