Although no Leinster club was able to retain the Irish [Bob Kerr] Senior Cup, it was eventually won by Waringstown in an all Northern final against Instonians, there were nonetheless many noteworthy performances in the competition by Leinster players.
The basic facts are that over 400 players competed in the cup, over 32 mataches. There were 60 half-centuries, 8 centuries and three cases of a player taking five wickets in an innings. Thirteen Leinster teams took part in the competition, including the preliminary rounds. This year the Quarter Final Round was the fateful one with four out of the five Leinster teams losing out. The breakdown of the participation in each of the main rounds for the Leinster teams was as follows:
R1 | R2 | GF | SF | F | |
Leinster Teams | 10 | 6 | 5 | 1 | 0 |
The contribution with the bat and ball by individual Leinster players is set out in the tables below.
Batting [Min 100 Runs]
For the bowlers the minimum qualifiaction is 5 wickets
And finally, for the all rounders a minimum aggregate score of 200 [runs and wickets] was required.
At a later stage we will put together the figures for the individual performances across the different competitions. Because of the different ways in which names are displayed this takes a bit of time to do.
