Pembroke & Laois: Best Grounds in 2020

Cricket Leinster is delighted to announce that Pembroke Cricket Club has been awarded the Best Grounds Award (D1-4) for 2020 in recognition of its excellent facilities and playing surface at Sydney Parade.

Pembroke CC

This is the second time in three years that Pembroke has scooped this important award and is appropriate recognition for the club’s long-term commitment to quality and in particular the work of its grounds team under the expert guidance of Dale McDonough (Managing Director, GM By Choice).

Cricket Leinster is also hugely pleased to announce that Laois Cricket Club has been awarded the Best Grounds Award (D5-18) for 2020 in recognition of the magnificent project undertaken over the past couple of years to create a top-class club cricket ground from scratch at The Abbey, behind Napper Tandy’s in the heart of Stradbally.

Laois CC

Everyone who has visited the new Laois home has remarked enthusiastically on the brilliant setting and facilities which have been established in such a short space of time based on the unstinting and dedicated efforts of Roland Bradley, Thomas Cosby (on whose land the club is located), Jack Ozenbrook and others. The work at Laois CC is a model for anyone looking to establish a club ground and associated facilities.

Both Pembroke CC and Laois CC are very worthy winners and in different ways are role models for their peers.

Please join us in congratulating both clubs.

Previous Fair Play Award to Stephen Doheny (Rush CC)
