OPEN SENIOR CUP AND SENIOR 2 CUP DRAWS (2026)

The Draws for the LHW Financial Planning Leinster Senior Cup and Senior 2 Cup competitions took place on Saturday morning, 13th December 2025 at Clontarf CC.

Both Draws were broadcast live on NEAR FM as part of Fergus Carroll’s weekly sports programme and via CL social media.

The Draws took place in the company of Brian Kelleher (CL President, 2026), Meena Baskarasubramanian (CL President, 2025), Micky Lowe (Chair OCC), Jim Bennett (CL President 2022) and Olag Sivanantham (Chair Grounds & Accreditation). Also in attendance were Mick Dwyer and Martin Russell (The Hills CC).

There were also some leading club players in attendance including Fionn Hand (Clontarf CC), Paul Lawson (Pembroke CC) and Jack Barry (Leinster CC).

LHW FINANCIAL PLANNING SENIOR CUP (2026)

The Open Senior Cup competition dates back 90 years to 1935 and was initially played for by eight clubs - Leinster, Civil Service, Clontarf, Merrion, Dublin University, Pembroke, Phoenix and YMCA.

The competition has been played in various formats over the decades. The 2026 iteration will, once again, be played as a white-ball (coloured kit) knock-out competition. Dublin University will be participating in the competition again in 2026 having last won the Senior Cup trophy in 1963 (as the third year of a treble success in the competition).

Pembroke are the holders and will be looking to achieve the treble next season having won the 2024 competition defeating Phoenix and the 2025 competition overcoming Clontarf in the last two Senior Cup Finals at Sydney Parade.

All CL clubs in the Premier League and First Team League will compete in this competition which will also include Dublin University (17 teams). Knockharley will be competing at this level for the first time and will face Terenure in a preliminary round, which is provisionally slated for April 22nd, prior to the full first round of fixtures.

At Observatory Lane, Leinster vs Merrion
At Kenure, Rush vs North County
At Castle Avenue, Clontarf vs Malahide
At Phoenix Park, Phoenix vs Pembroke
At The Maws, North Kildare vs Balbriggan
At Terenure/Kentstown, Terenure/Knockharley vs The Hills
At Civil Service, Civil Service vs Adamstown

LHW FINANCIAL PLANNING SENIOR 2 CUP (2026)

This competition is also played as a 50-over knock-out competition (coloured clothing & white ball). There will be 16 teams competing in 2026 which includes the top 13 second teams in the province and the first teams of Sandyford, Wexford Wanderers and Laois. Leinster 2s are the holders having defeated Terenure 2s in the 2025 Final on 4th August last.

At Civil Service, Civil Service 2 vs Terenure 2
At Marlay Park, Sandyford vs Clontarf 2
At Inch, North County 2 vs Laois
At Jack Harper Park, Balbriggan 2 vs Castleknock

The 2026 LHW Financial Planning Senior Cup Final is scheduled for Pembroke’s Ground at Sydney Parade on Saturday 1st August and will be live-streamed throughout the day via the CL YouTube channel. As part of the day, there will also be the annual CL Patron’s Lunch.

The historic trophy will be presented to the captain of the winning team by Alan Lewis, Managing Director, LHW Financial Planning.
