Open Competitions : The Final League Tables

The final league tables for the Open Competition for 2011 have now been posted.

Eleven different clubs won leagues with three, Railway Union, Pembroke and Merrion taking two trophies each. The most unlucky club [in terms of trophies won] was YMCA who failed to win a league but were runners up in three leagues.

The most successful side, and the only one to go through the whole season without a single loss, was Dundalk 1st XI with 92% in D11. Dundalk won 11 matches in all, the same number as Terenure 1st XI [D2], Leinster 2nd XI [D3] and Civil Service 3rd XI [D10].

The closest result was in  Division 1 where Railway Union won with just 66.46% of the available points. Division IV was also very competitive with Merrion 2nds winning on the last match of the season on 66.56%.

There were a total of 644 matches played, with 64 producing 'no results' due to the weather.

The following table represents a summary of the results from the different leagues. Although teams have been included in relegation and promotion spots, ultimately the decision on promotion and relegation rests with the Open Competitions Committee.
