Thursday afternoon saw the Gresham House U15 Girls Cup Final take place at Clontarf CC, as Clontarf U15 Girls hosted Merrion U15 Girls. Merrion came out on top off the back of a scintillating 135* from Aisling Lawlor and a tight bowling display.

Lawlor got her side going early on with a litany of boundaries, she powered her side to 55/0 after 6 overs. Despite a battling bowling effort from Clontarf, Lawlor was in simply unstoppable form as she blasted the bowling to all parts. She found good support in her opening partner Lainey Harte who ran selflessly alongside Lawlor ensuring she saw the majority of the strike. Lawlor brought up her hundred in the 16th over and from there hit another gear as she powered her side to 189/0 from their 20 overs, Harte eventually finishing 30* alongside her.

The Clontarf chase got off to a bright start being 32/0 off the first 4 overs. The O’Toole sisters Katie and Sophie trying to keep their side afloat in the face of a very tricky chase. Trudy Molins was able to remove Katie O’Toole LBW in the 6th over and her sister Sophie soon followed, falling foul of a brilliant direct hit run out. This brought together Lily Poynter and Olivia Dunne who added a further 60 for the 3rd wicket. They fought valiantly in an effort to get their side close, however a tight final 10 overs from the Merrion allowed them to run out winners by 75 runs.
Cricket Leinster would like to thank Gresham House for their brilliant support of youth cricket in Leinster for 2025, it is greatly appreciated.
