  3. LIGHTNING SQUAD FOR HOME IP50 GAMES (TUES 7TH AND THURS 9TH JULY)
6th July 2026 by Cricket Leinster

LIGHTNING SQUAD FOR HOME IP50 GAMES (TUES 7TH AND THURS 9TH JULY)

Following a comprehensive loss to the North West Warriors in Bready last week, Andre Botha (Head Coach) will be looking to bounce back strongly next week when the Lightning host the other two provincial teams at Sydney Parade.

The team originally selected for Bready was severely depleted by the time they arrived in Derry with Jai Moondra (Leinster), Matt Hollard (Balbriggan) and Harry Tector (Pembroke) all withdrawn from the squad following the brilliant weekend wins by the Ireland Men over India at Stormont.

That said, there were some encouraging individual performances at Bready including the continued excellent form of captain Lorcan Tucker who made an unbeaten 74 off 47 balls to assist his side in setting the Warriors 215 for victory in 37 overs.

For context, the original Lightning squad had included Josh Little (Pembroke), Barry McCarthy (Pembroke), Curtis Campher (Clontarf), Jai Moondra (Leinster), Matt Hollard (Balbriggan) and David Delany (Clontarf), who could only play as a batter last week.

Botha welcomes back Harry Tector and Curtis Campher for the games this week – Campher is likely to share overs with David Delany as both rebuild after injury. Jai Moondra also makes a return after his brilliant debut against India which has elevated his profile within the sport to global levels in just a short period of time.

The two home IP50 games are scheduled to take place in Sydney Parade as follows:

Tuesday 7th: Leinster Lightning vs Northern Knights (10.45am)

Thursday 9th: Leinster Lightning vs North West Warriors (10.45am)

The selected Sherwin O’Riordan Leinster Lightning squad is as follows:

Lorcan Tucker (Pembroke), Capt & Wkt
Tim Tector (Pembroke)
Harry Tector (Pembroke)
Curtis Campher (Clontarf)
Stephen Doheny (Merrion)
Chris DeFreitas (Balbriggan)
George Dockrell (Phoenix)
Gavin Hoey (Pembroke)
David Delany (Clontarf)
Fionn Hand (Clontarf)
Jai Moondra (Leinster)
Ben White (Phoenix)
Byron McDonough (Pembroke)

Head Coach: Andre Botha
Operations: Mick Cotter & Cillian McDonnell

Our thanks as always to James Sherwin and David O’Riordan (Sherwin O’Riordan Solicitors) for their sponsorship support of the Leinster Lightning and Leinster Bolts, it is very much appreciated.
