  3. Leinster Division 1/2 Averages : August 1st
7th August 2011 by Gerry Byrne

Leinster Division 1/2 Averages : August 1st

Averages for Divisions 1 adn 2 [Augusst 1st]

Batting

Minimum runs required upped to 400. As the requirement increases the number of those who make it reduces.  Andre Botha continues to be top of the averages but has been passed (just) as leading scorer by John Anderson, the first to reach 600 runs.. North County and Merrion provide 5 of the 7 who have reached the requirement.

Bowling.

Minimum number of wickets needed increased to 18. More feature in this list. Jim Govan still has the best average But Matt Petrie has most wickets, narrowly from Dom Joyce.

Catches in Field

John Anderson has taken over the lead in this category, with 10 and followed by David Langford Smith. Again a tight field.

Wicket Keeping.

It has been a while since Paul Twaddle adn Rohit Bahl have been separated at the top of this category. They are both well clear of the rest of the field with Merrion’s young keeper Patrick Tice coming into 3rd slot. I still am inclined to think one of the top two will carry it off, unless of course they stay level to the end. Given the way it has been going that it not impossible.

All Rounders

Some changes in this category. New leader in Dom Joyce, just about 90 points ahead of Andre Botha and John Anderson has come up from 11th to 3rd. Previous leader Josh Reeves has dropped to 4th.  However the top 4 are only separated by 113 points – not a lot in this category.
