IBI CORPORATE FINANCE PREMIER LEAGUE & CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND-UP JUNE 12TH

Both Senior League Cup finalist suffered defeat in today’s Premier League fixtures as YMCA, The Hills and Balbriggan all maintained their unbeaten starts to the season, whilst Merrion got their league season up and running with a 4 wicket win over Clontarf. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin’s 134 as The Hills ran out 67 run winners against Phoenix, whilst Kashif Ali continued his great run of form to start the red-ball campaign, as he took 4/14 in another comprehensive Balbriggan win.

Meanwhile in the Championship, there were comprehensive wins for each of Railway Union, North Kildare, Rush and North County as the first three of those sides managed to make it two wins from two, with the Inch side chalking up their first victory of the season. Niall McGovern’s unbeaten half-century backed up a good all-round bowling performance for North County, whilst there were also excellent unbeaten half-centuries in chases for each of Kenny Carroll, for Railway, and Llew Johnson, for Rush. The highlight of the day across both divisions however was surely Abdul Sattar’s 7/14 from 8.2 overs, as North Kildare rolled Cork Harlequins for 60 in the lowest scoring innings of the day to secure a 164 run victory.
